The direct-answer rule

Direct answer: the first paragraph under every substantive heading must answer that heading without an advertising promise.

The rest of the section explains exceptions, documents, steps and limits. Length is earned by a new decision, check or example; it is not created by repeating the same conclusion with new adjectives.

Source hierarchy

Direct answer: a statement about law, procedure, timing or case outcome should use the official record closest to the event.

1. Legislation, court record or official rule.
2. Law-enforcement, regulator or ombudsman publication.
3. Payment provider, exchange or token-issuer documentation.
4. Secondary professional commentary only as context.

A displayed date may be the source publication date, effective date or editorial review date; its meaning follows the source context and does not promise that a rule will remain unchanged.

Public case files

Direct answer: public cases retain the procedural language in the primary source and disclose that ScamCompass and its partners did not represent the parties.

Identified, frozen, seized, forfeited, approved for remission and paid are different events. We do not combine them into a single “recovered” number. An internal partner case can be published only after documentary review, permission and effective anonymisation.

Automation and news

Direct answer: after the 24-hour cache expires, the next request triggers a server-side check of official RSS sources and each card links to the original.

Duplicate items are removed. Importing a headline is not an endorsement of every detail, and a guide’s modified date changes only after a substantive editorial review, not because the feed refreshed.

Commercial influence and corrections

Direct answer: a lead fee does not allow a partner to change an editorial conclusion, hide an official route or promise a result.

A material error is corrected in the article and the update date changes when the correction can affect a reader’s decision. A correction request can be submitted through the review form with “editorial correction” at the start and no unnecessary case data.
